Technical Operations Manager Vacancy
Standby UK is looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager to lead and support our Technical, R&D, Aftersales, Quality, and Environmental teams — including Apprenticeships and Training.
This senior leadership role is integral to the company’s success, driving technical excellence, product development, and quality assurance across the UK, Republic of Ireland, and wider Standby Group locations.
We’re seeking a proven leader with experience managing technical teams and delivering complex engineering or vehicle-based solutions. You’ll be a strong communicator and influencer with excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
You should be:
Decisive, persuasive, and motivational
Analytical and systematic, yet flexible in approach
A confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
Willing to travel across the UK and internationally
Minimum Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Science or Engineering)
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and CAN technologies
Experience leading technical teams and managing resources effectively
Competence in MS Office and familiarity with JIRA or similar project management tools
Full UK driving licence
Automotive electrical installation and diagnostics
PLC programming experience
Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards

Based at Standby UK, 19 Hollies Business Park, Cannock, Staffordshire WS11 1DB, with some off-site and international work.
