ITAI Crash Day 2026 Summary
Standby UK was proud to once again support the Institute of Traffic Accident Investigators (ITAI) at the 2026 Annual Crash Day, continuing our long-standing commitment to advancing collision investigation through innovative telematics technology.
This year’s event marked an exciting change of location, moving from its previous home at Darley Moor Racetrack to Upper Heyford Airfield, Oxfordshire. The expansive airfield provided an excellent setting for the live collision demonstrations and practical investigation exercises, bringing together investigators and industry professionals from across the UK to explore the latest techniques and technologies in accident reconstruction.
As part of our support for the event, Standby UK supplied and installed advanced Telematics equipment on selected demonstration vehicles. Our system captured detailed vehicle data through comprehensive Data Logging and Journey Recording, providing investigators with valuable insights into vehicle movements and performance throughout the collision scenarios. The data collected helps support accurate collision reconstruction and provides additional context when analysing complex road traffic incidents.

This year’s event also gave us the opportunity to document our technology in action. We were pleased to have a professional film crew on site capturing the live crash demonstrations which will feature in our upcoming Telematics video which will help demonstrate the capabilities and practical benefits of our solutions.
Our continued involvement with ITAI reflects our commitment to supporting the traffic accident investigation community with technology that helps improve accuracy, efficiency and, ultimately, road safety. By combining innovative solutions with expert technical support, Standby UK continues to equip investigators with the tools they need to carry out critical work with confidence.
