50-Mile Cycle Challenge for St Giles Hospice
Following his successful Coast to Coast cycling challenge earlier this year, Standby UK’s Auto Electrical Workshop Operative, Lee Beaumont, is taking on his next fundraising challenge – this time in support of St Giles Hospice.
On Sunday 27 September, Lee will take part in Cycle St Giles, riding 50 miles through the Staffordshire countryside to raise funds for local people, and their loved ones, living with a terminal illness. The event starts and finishes at St Giles Hospice in Whittington, Lichfield.
This challenge carries particular personal significance for Lee.
Lee is taking part in memory of his mom, Sandra, and Sylvia, Cy’s mom, who were both cared for at St Giles Hospice in Whittington.
By taking on the 50-mile ride, Lee hopes to help raise funds for the hospice and support the vital care it provides to patients and their families at an incredibly difficult time.

The September Cycle St Giles event offers participants a choice of 25, 50 or 100-mile routes, with all routes starting and finishing at the Whittington hospice and travelling through the Staffordshire countryside.
For Lee, the 50-mile route represents his second major cycling challenge of the year. In June, he completed a 137-mile Coast to Coast ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, tackling more than 11,200 feet of climbing and raising an impressive £1,000 for Myeloma UK.
Having completed that challenge, Lee is now back in the saddle for another cause that is particularly close to his heart.
Standby UK is proud to support Lee as he takes on this next challenge in memory of Sandra and Sylvia.
If you would like to support Lee and help raise funds for St Giles Hospice, donations can be made through his JustGiving page here.
We wish Lee the very best for Sunday and hope he has a fantastic ride!
Good luck, Lee – we’ll be cheering you on! 🚴♂️
