Standby UK’s Lee Beaumont Raises £1,000 for Myeloma UK
Standby UK is delighted to share an update on Auto Electrical Workshop Operative Lee Beaumont’s fundraising efforts, following his successful Coast to Coast cycling challenge in support of Myeloma UK.
In June 2026, Lee took on the demanding Coast to Coast cycle challenge from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, completing 137 miles over three days and tackling more than 11,200 feet of climbing.
The challenge, which took place from 26–28 June, was undertaken to raise funds and awareness for Myeloma UK, inspired by the impact that myeloma has had on close family and friends.
Lee’s efforts have now raised a fantastic £1,000, with the donations successfully paid to Myeloma UK.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported Lee throughout the challenge. Whether through donations, encouragement or helping spread the word, the support from colleagues, customers, friends and family helped make the fundraising effort such a success.
Myeloma UK is dedicated to supporting people affected by myeloma, funding research and improving treatment and support for patients and their families. The charity’s work continues to make a difference to those living with this incurable blood cancer.
With one challenge completed, Lee is already preparing for his next fundraising event.
At the end of September, he will take on a 100-mile cycle ride in one go in support of St Giles Hospice in Whittington.
Following the Coast to Coast challenge, Lee is expecting this to be potentially an even harder test of endurance and determination. With 100 miles to complete in a single ride, training will be essential as he prepares for another demanding challenge.
Lee’s continued commitment to fundraising is a fantastic example of the difference that personal determination and community support can make.
Standby UK is proud to support Lee in his fundraising efforts and wishes him every success with his upcoming challenge for St Giles Hospice.
Good luck, Lee – we’ll be cheering you on!
