Standby UK Celebrates Finalist Recognition at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards

Standby UK was proud to attend the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, celebrating an evening dedicated to recognising excellence and business success across the county.

The company was shortlisted in the Innovation, Science & Technology Award category for its pioneering Sync & Breathe technology, which is designed to improve the effectiveness of emergency vehicle warning lighting through GPS synchronisation and calmer, more intelligent on-scene lighting.

Representing Standby UK at the awards ceremony were Managing Director Roy McClarty, Digital Marketing Co-ordinator Siân Powell, who prepared and submitted the award entry, and Michelle Jenkinson, Production Operative, who this year celebrates eight years as part of the Standby UK team.

While the award was ultimately presented to Valentine Clays for its innovative LoStone low-fire stoneware clay, Standby UK is honoured to have been recognised alongside such an impressive group of finalists. Congratulations to the Valentine Clays team on their well-deserved success and on developing an innovation that is making a meaningful impact within the ceramics industry.

Being named a finalist reflects Standby UK’s continued commitment to developing technologies that deliver real operational benefits for Emergency Services. Sync & Breathe represents years of research, development and collaboration, helping to improve scene safety by synchronising warning lights between vehicles while reducing unnecessary visual distraction once on scene.

The Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards continue to showcase the exceptional businesses, organisations and individuals driving innovation across the region, with the 2026 ceremony attracting a record number of entries and the largest audience in the event’s history.

Although Standby UK didn’t have the opportunity to take to the stage as award winners, the team still enjoyed an unexpected moment in the spotlight. Digital Marketing Co-ordinator Siân was pleasantly surprised to be nominated for the evening’s informal ‘Style Award’, joining the other best-dressed guests on stage for a live audience vote. While the title went to the very well-dressed Joanne Hamilton of Azets Business Advisory Group, it was a fun and unexpected moment that rounded off an excellent evening celebrating innovation and business success across Staffordshire.
