MCS-NX Next Generation Control Units

Standby’s Sync & Breathe technology is enabled through the MCS-NX, allowing vehicles with compatible Lightbars and Perimeter Lights to synchronise and display unified flash patterns using GPS technology, eliminating the visual noise of competing signals.

Once at scene, the Raiden Lightbar transitions to the Breathe function; a smooth undulating flash pattern powered by the MCS-NX. Breathe reduces glare, visual strain, and overstimulation, creating a calmer, more controlled environment for onlookers, drivers and responders.

Range siren systems use high-frequency tones projected forward to push alerts far ahead of the vehicle, helping clear a path through traffic. However, these sounds can reflect off buildings in built-up areas, creating broad awareness but sometimes making it difficult for people to judge the vehicle’s exact approach.

Proximity systems add a complementary layer: a lower-frequency bass tone projected downward so it spreads evenly around the vehicle, giving road users a precise sense of where the emergency vehicle actually is.

When combined, the two-stage setup provides both long-distance warning and immediate local awareness. This dual capability is enabled by MCS-NX 16 / 32 / 64 units, which are designed to operate both Range and Proximity loudspeakers as standard, ensuring vehicles can deliver the most effective audible warnings available.

The MCS-NX is FD CAN enabled, in alignment with current and emerging network standards. This next generation capability ensures robust integration and long-term scalability compared to legacy standard CAN implementations.
