MCS-NXE-12 Next Generation Control Unit

The MCS-NXE-12 is engineered for commercial fleet vehicles that require dependable control of auxiliary systems without the added complexity of emergency-service-specific features. By removing unnecessary functionality, the NXE-12 delivers a streamlined solution that is easier to install, configure, and maintain.

Designed for applications such as rooftop and secondary lighting, power management, and auxiliary equipment control, the NXE-12 supports efficient vehicle builds where space, cost, and simplicity are critical. It is fully compatible with existing MCS handsets and switch units, allowing familiar operation and straightforward integration into current installations.

The unit is available with or without integrated audio intercom capability and supports both 12V and 24V vehicle systems, making it suitable for a wide range of commercial applications.

This NXE model provides reliable power distribution and control with 8 × 20A high-power positive outputs and 4 × 2.4A low-power negative outputs, all within a space-saving footprint.

RJ45–RJ45 6m cable not included as standard.

MCS-NXE platform overview

The MCS-NXE (Enterprise) range is intended for commercial fleet vehicles fitted with a lower level of non-OEM electrical equipment. Features commonly associated with emergency service vehicles – such as integrated siren amplifiers and higher-complexity switching – are intentionally excluded to reduce cost, weight, and system complexity.

Low-power outputs on NXE models are negative-switching only, reflecting typical commercial vehicle requirements, while retaining the same proven core hardware architecture as the MCS-NX platform.

Human Machine Interface

The MCS-NXE-12 is fully compatible with the existing range of MCS handsets and switch units, providing intuitive control of lighting, auxiliary functions, and power management with minimal training required.

Audio intercom (optional)

An optional Audio Intercom is available on NXE models (denoted by -A1), providing:

Two differential microphone inputs
Two 5W speaker outputs
Two PTT switch inputs
Independent volume control per channel

The system supports two-way communication and audio announcements where required.

Software configuration
