Great North Run Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK

Standby UK’s Export Sales Manager, James Marsden, is gearing up to take on the Great North Run on September 7th, raising funds for a cause that’s close to his heart – Prostate Cancer UK.
James recently completed the Leeds 10K, and inspired by the incredible atmosphere and support for a wide range of charities, he launched his fundraising campaign the very next day.
“This year I’m running the Great North Run for Prostate Cancer UK,” said James. “It’s a fantastic charity close to my heart. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK — that’s one dad, partner, brother, grandad, or mate. I’m raising money to help fund lifesaving research and support for men and their families affected by this disease.”
James is encouraging friends, colleagues, and the wider community to support his efforts.
“Please give what you can — all donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot,” he added.
The Great North Run is the world’s largest half marathon, taking place annually in the North East of England. The 13.1-mile route starts in Newcastle upon Tyne and finishes in South Shields, drawing over 60,000 participants each year and raising millions for charitable causes.
Prostate Cancer UK is a leading charity dedicated to fighting the most common cancer in men. The organisation funds pioneering research, raises awareness, and provides vital support to men and their families. Their goal is to stop prostate cancer from being a killer and ensure more men survive and live well.
