Mobile CCTV for ambulances serves multiple purposes; helping to provide evidence of safe driving on emergency runs, defending claims for damage to parked vehicles in narrow streets, and protecting the interests of both paramedics and patients. The Standby RSG range of ambulance CCTV technology goes further by also offering data logging of events from GPS for speed and location, G-shock in three dimensions, and activation of numerous switched connections from blue lights and siren, to equipment lockers and on-board powered systems.

Safety inside and out

AutoEye Xpert Pro recorders can support up to 16 camera channels enabling full coverage from all angles both inside and outside the ambulance. We understand how important patient confidentiality is, so our systems include privacy functions to prevent recording in the patient treatment area unless a panic alarm occurs. And by supporting multiple monitors the system can provide functions to facilitate not only patient and paramedic safety, but also manoeuvring safely in tight locations. The ability to mount multiple cameras around the vehicle helps to ensure that patients are loaded safely, and that evidence is recorded if complaints are later received.

Data security is ensured with locking storage media, on-board data backup systems, password protection, and encryption when wireless data transfer is used. And the systems can support dual band wifi for high speed transfer of HD video files, and 4G cellular for live streaming and tracking functions. The system is able to dynamically adjust its cellular data transmission according to available bandwidth, and without affecting the storage of HD files on the main media store.

The AutoEye Xpert Pro systems also include GPS for recording vehicle speed, location, and route, a 3-dimensional G-sensor for shock and driving analysis, and switched inputs to record activation of blue lights, siren, and other equipment.
