From concept to finished product on your vehicles! We develop and manufacture innovative visual and audible warning and control equipment for emergency and specialist vehicles.

A market leader in Europe

At the start of our journey, we dreamt of creating a business, where through creativity and unparalleled service, we can make a difference. It was our aim to contribute to a safer world by offering superior product solutions to those people, that truly go above and beyond every day to ensure we are safe as we go about our daily lives, from police officers, to figher fighters and first responders.

Now many years later, our focus remains unchanged, we want to lead the way in road safety by offering innovative products, with the highest quality standards in mind.

Our teams across Europe are passionate about supporting our partners in the market. This has enabled us to become the leading supplier and system integrator of warning equipment and control systems for emergency and specialist vehicles in Europe today.

We are established in five countries across Europe, with development and production facilities in Sweden, France, Germany, UK, and Finland. Our ever growing team of 170 dedicated colleagues strives every day to offer great solutions to our partners.

Alongside natural growth by regularly bringing to market exceptional new product and service solutions, we have developed strongly through mergers and acquisitions. With the support of our parent group, the Argynnis Corporation, we have brought together companies with similar visions and cultures into what Standby Group is today, namely the leading European supplier of warning and control equipment for emergency and special vehicles.

Our motto to <be global but act local> continues to serve us well, as it enables us to focus on the requirements of each of our customers by having local experts on hand, instead of a one-size fits all mentality.

Our history

In Sweden we started out as a small family business back over 40 years ago, in 1978. The name Standby may seem very international, but it originates from the two entrepreneurs who started the business, Mr Stenberg AND Mr Byström, ST _AND BY.

Our sales office in Finland was established in 2010 to serve our partners there better locally.

Standby France began life in 1961 as Mercura and over the years we have established ourselves as a strong partner to police, fire, ambulance, and specialist road maintenance vehicle manufactures.

In Germany we started out as Wandel & Goltermann as far back as 1970, by designing the first visual and audible warning products. Over the years we grew into a leading supplier to many police forces and the wider BOS sector by offering product solutions as Pintsch Bamag, before becoming Standby in 2016.

In the United Kingdom, Standby started out as Riches Street Garage (RSG) Limited in 1961 and has grown into the leading supplier of control systems for emergency services, we are today.

Our journey is not finished yet, we look forward to continuing our growth well into the future…
