Whilst it possible to connect a monitor to the DVR, this can be a delay during the DVR boot-up sequence which means the driver is unable to reverse safely until the system is ready. However, by using the AHD Camera Splitter Cable, a monitor can connect directly to the camera and display its image before the DVR has booted, thus facilitating a quicker movement of the vehicle. As some of our monitor offer two input channels it is possible for a single monitor to act both as a reversing monitor with instant viewing, and a DVR control and playback device once booted.
The cable includes a special wiring such that only one host device provides power to the camera. This prevents back-flow from installations where cable lengths and/or power supplies may be imbalanced.
