Standby Group is proud to announce that several of its flagship products have successfully met the stringent requirements of SAE standards. The W3 Lightbar, L52 Single and Dual Colour LED Modules, and L54 LED Modules have all undergone rigorous testing and received approval for compliance with these internationally recognised standards for motor vehicle lighting colours.
The double flash pattern of all applicable modules was approved to SAE J578-2020 standard, whilst directional lights (L52 & L54) met SAE J595-2021 standard, and 360° lights (W3 Lightbar Corner LED Modules) met SAE J845-2021 standard.
Meeting Global Standards for Safety and Performance
SAE standards are developed by the International Society of Automotive and Aerospace Engineers. They ensure consistency and safety in the colours of lighting equipment used on motor vehicles, covering red, amber, selective yellow, white, green, and blue lights. The standard is widely adopted in the U.S. and Canada and increasingly recognised in global markets.
By achieving these certifications, Standby Group demonstrates its commitment to producing high-quality, compliant products that meet the expectations of a safety-conscious market. These approvals reflect our dedication to advancing lighting technology in line with the latest international standards.
Advanced Testing and Compliance
The SAE J578-2020 standard specifies two advanced methods for verifying compliance: the tristimulus method and the spectrophotometric method. These testing protocols ensure that the overall colour of light emitted by a device meets strict safety and visibility criteria.
It is important to note that SAE J578 focuses on the effective colour of light emitted in a given direction and does not apply to small areas of a lens or internal pilot and indicator lights.
Driving Innovation and Safety
At Standby Group, we understand the importance of reliable and compliant lighting solutions in the automotive and emergency sectors. The SAE certification of our W3 Lightbar, L52, and L54 LED Modules underscores our dedication to engineering excellence.
We remain committed to delivering products that enhance visibility, improve safety, and meet the evolving needs of our global clientele.
